PerTECHtual, the business continuity specialists, has launched a new Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) offering based on Citrix CloudPlatform and Vision Solutions’ Double-Take Cloud Protection & Recovery (CP&R) For Apache CloudStack™. This is the first RaaS launch worldwide that is based on CloudPlatform.

By using Double-Take and CloudPlatform together, PerTECHtual offers a sophisticated high availability service in a secure enterprise cloud that is simple to manage, cost-effective, and versatile. If a failure occurs in a customer’s IT infrastructure, they can simply spin up their replicated server images within the private cloud recovery system, eliminating potential risk to their business and ensuring continuity of IT services. The customer can then take the time they need to fix the issue causing the downtime, before easily returning to normal operations using reverse replication.

Jay Bharvada, Director of PerTECHtual, commented, “Our business is built on providing true resilience, from contingency email services through to our High Availability disaster recovery solutions, hosted in our private secure clouds. Our new Recovery-as-a-Service platform offers great flexibility. For example, recovery tests can be conducted at any time, with no adverse effect on live systems. This is an amazing opportunity for companies, who no longer have to rely on costly secondary DR sites or inadequate online storage. Moreover, with virtually no CapEx and low OpEx, our scalable Recovery-as-a-Service platform is an economically viable option for businesses of any size.”

“Our decision to implement this solution was an easy one,” Bharvada explained. “The complete management stack offered by CloudPlatform is a huge advantage, as it enables more efficient onboarding of customers. Also, our past experience with Double-Take has proved it to be extremely reliable, in addition to its impressive features, which include ease of implementation and near-zero downtime. Together, they have enhanced our ability to both migrate and protect data from physical, virtual and other cloud server platforms. Our service is now even more versatile and efficient, making it easier to provide the resilience that is so vital to a company.”

Ian Masters, Sales Director Northern Europe for Vision Solutions said, “Our integration with Citrix CloudPlatform and Apache CloudStack gives resellers, service providers and end-user organisations the ability to extend their cloud services into real-time replication and Recovery-as-a-Service. This integrated solution provides service providers with a much quicker route to market and organisations can get their server images into the cloud without experiencing downtime. This makes cloud migration and recovery an appealing option for customers as they can be more flexible in their approach.”
