Draka strengthens its team

Cable manufacturer Draka is strengthening its sales and support team with the appointment of two Sales Managers: Stephen Richardson in the Northern region and Luciana Lloyd for the South.

Both will look after accounts utilising Draka’s products for data, broadcast and industrial applications. They work as a key interface between the customer and the technical support team at Draka, ensuring customers can easily access the wealth of technical expertise and specification advice available from the largest global manufacturer of cable products.

In making the appointments, Draka is looking to strengthen its service offer. Luciana Lloyd observed: “It’s a hugely competitive, fast-moving market where excellent service is hugely important. You don’t get second chances.”

A combination of technical expertise and faultless logistics is required for the large and complex projects forming a significant part of the company’s business such as the provision of broadcast cable for the entire European Championships in 2012.

Stephen Richardson previously worked as sales office manager so is already benefitting from established relationships with many of the customers, while looking forward to the challenge of his new role: “It’s a really exciting time for us in the UK. The market is very competitive but we have a great team and great products so it is the type of challenge that I relish.”

Both appointments took effect in February this year and, with a full sales and support team in place, Draka, now part of the Prysmian Group, is looking forward to continued investment in the UK market.
