The Bunker selected to support UK G-Cloud Programme

The Bunker, provider of Ultra Secure Cloud, Hosting, Colocation and IT Services from within the UK’s most secure facilities, has been selected as a provider of Specialist Cloud Services under the UK Government Procurement Service G-Cloud framework. Under lots 1 & 4 The Bunker is able to offer specialist services across Infrastructure, Software & Cloud Consulting to a range of government departments, including; the NHS, local authorities, emergency services and other public bodies.

The G-Cloud Programme is a cross government initiative and aims to streamline the government’s interaction with its technology suppliers in order to achieve economies of scale and promote IT solutions that are more flexible and responsive to demand. The Cabinet Office is targeting 50% of all new IT spend to go through the G-Cloud by 2015, and estimates it is already saving some departments up to 90% in IT spend.

Graham Spivey Sales and Marketing Director at The Bunker explained: “Cloud computing has brought about a step change in the economics and sustainability of IT procurement, a message reiterated earlier this month with the Cabinet Office’s announcement that the government now has a cloud-first buying policy.”

“Our inclusion on the G Cloud framework is a clear demonstration of the UK government's commitment to leveraging innovation through the diverse and valuable knowledge pool that sits within the nation’s SMEs.”

Peter Ford, Business Consultant at The Bunker added;  “The Bunker is delighted to have been selected by the Government Procurement Service to be a supplier on the G-Cloud framework. We look forward to engaging and working with a wide range of public sector bodies on some exciting projects.”
