Intechnology expands retail client base

InTechnology has boosted its presence in the retail sector by winning a managed services and hosting contract with Teletext Holidays.

InTechnology’s latest acquisition comes as a result of Teletext’s need to modernise its data centre capability and to allow its in-house team to focus on the front end-product, whilst reducing IT costs.

Over 100 aged physical servers previously housed on-premise were stood down, with three dozen new servers moved to InTechnology’s London data centre. These are monitored 24/7, providing complete data security, business support and peace of mind.

Telextext is one of the oldest names in travel and has been bringing British consumers great value package deals for 20 years through TV and online. A high availability infrastructure is essential to the smooth running of its operations and the maintenance of its demanding performance standards.
Mariusz Nowak, Operations Manager, for Teletext, said “With our in-house team increasingly focusing on the front-end product, we also needed to be able to bring on stream technologies and skill sets to support our back-end, without ever having to own that overhead. We saw InTechnology’s managed service portfolio as an assured way of rising to both of these primary challenges.

“Where InTechnology wins is essentially in its people and their understanding of a commercial partnership - it’s not just about what is delivered, it’s about how it is delivered and supported and improved and taken forward.”

Further to the data centre services, Teletext have also opted for the fully managed networks service, including Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and firewalls, which will further reduce its in-house IT load. The effective ‘on demand’ nature of InTechnology’s managed services means that Teletext can continue to effortlessly develop its IT base.

Natalie Duffield, Sales Director at InTechnology added “We’re proud that it has been our relationship and transparent business objectives that has stood InTechnology apart from our competitors. Providing an honest and trustworthy service is a priority and we’re delighted that this has been recognised.

“As a result of our managed services, Teletext estimates that they will achieve a 25% reduction in data centre costs alone, with further savings accruing from reduced overheads away from low-value work, and from a streamlined single source supply arrangement.”
