ATMAN becomes the first Polish operator to connect to the Moscow MSK-IX exchange point

ATM S.A., owner and operator of the Polish nationwide ATMAN fibre-optic network and leader in data centre services in Poland (provided under the ATMAN and Thinx Poland brands), in line with customer and market expectations, is extending the reach of its network with the addition of another foreign Internet exchange point: MSK-IX. The creation of an access node at this largest Moscow exchange point is an excellent move to complement the ATMAN network’s established participation in Western European exchange points – AMS-IX in Amsterdam, DE-CIX in Frankfurt and LINX in London – extending the foreign range of the network to 7,400 km.

Participation in the Moscow exchange point will optimize the costs of Internet access and other services offered by ATMAN, and will open up a path to Eastern European Internet resources. For customers of the company using IP services, the ATMAN network’s direct link with Russian operators and content providers will provide even better quality of service and significantly reduce delays in data transmission. The ATMAN network’s fourth international link also means shorter routing paths (the paths along which data packets are sent) and additional redundancy in communications with resources outside Poland, and consequently better telecommunications security. ATM is the only Polish telecommunications operator to participate in the four largest European Internet exchange points, as well as having its own Thinx exchange point.

The creation of the Moscow link is part of ATM’s consistently pursued development strategy, which is oriented towards extending the range of ATMAN services offered to foreign customers, among other things through presence at key exchange points, which significantly reduces the cost of services, improves their quality and brings the global resources of the Internet closer. At the same time, this is another important step in developing the Company’s business oriented towards the East. By connecting Eastern Europe with the West via the ATMAN network, the company gains new possibilities of winning customers in the Central and Eastern Europe region, by offering them colocation services and dedicated server leasing at ATM’s three data centres in Poland, which have a total area of 8,500 sq.m, as well as data transmission and other services using the ATMAN network.
