Bristol City Council is to work with Eduserv, the not-for-profit managed cloud services provider, on the migration of its IT infrastructure to the cloud in support of a council wide building consolidation programme.
The contract, which was procured through the government’s G-Cloud procurement framework, will see Eduserv take over the day-to-day management of the council’s IT estate and make use of Eduserv’s cloud migration services to support the transformation programme.
The project is estimated to be worth £1.5m over two years and will support the council’s move to a new ICT delivery strategy to support its £90m cost savings programme.

The benefit of having our own data centre is local government can free up their real estate immediately by collocating in our data centre and migrating to the cloud in a controlled environment. We are looking forward to supporting Bristol City Council on its move to the cloud.”
