NGD receives Government’s UK Data Centre Climate Change Agreement

Next Generation Data (NGD) says that it is the first data centre operator in the UK to receive a Data Centre Climate Change Agreement, the newly introduced government backed initiative for driving and recognising efficiencies in one of the UK’s most energy intensive sectors.

Capable of delivering a supply of up to 180 MVA from its own power sub-station and already provisioning 40kW or more to server racks at its NGD Europe carrier-neutral, high security mega-data centre, NGD operates one of the largest data centres in Europe. The facility’s abundant power and size ensure government organisations, blue chip IT services companies such as BT, CGI, IBM and Wipro Technologies, and an increasing array of growing cloud service providers, have access to highly resilient, scalable and future-proofed data centre environments.
