SolidFire confirms APAC distributor agreement with Nissho Electronics

Japan-based distributor to expand global availability of SolidFire’s next-generation enterprise storage solutions.

SolidFire has announced a distribution agreement with Nissho Electronics Corporation, a leading Japanese distributor of virtualization, cloud computing and data center solutions. The agreement represents a continuation of SolidFire’s rapid global expansion and follows the opening of a regional HQ in Singapore in April 2014, and significant growth of SolidFire’s Europe, Middle East and Africa teams.

Under the agreement, Nissho will provide its network of resellers with access to SolidFire’s SF3010, SF6010, and SF9010 scale-out/all-flash storage arrays. The distributor has also been provided with aggressive sales targets, highlighting SolidFire’s strong growth plans for the region. As a result of the agreement, Nissho’s resellers will be able to offer Japanese enterprises the solutions needed to meet today’s IT performance demands while driving greater consolidation, automation and scale across their entire storage infrastructure.

Japanese cloud service operators will also be able to take advantage of SolidFire’s all-flash storage arrays to improve their profits by differentiating their service offerings and setting competitive prices. This is based on the QoS (Quality of Service) guarantee SolidFire brings to the storage layer, allowing cloud service operators to set effective and competitive pricing tailored to each service level. Each system is fully scalable, enabling rapid responses to changes in customer demand levels.
Increasing pressure on enterprise IT to deliver fast and reliable services while keeping costs low has been felt globally, and Japan in particular is investing heavily in cloud, storage and data center infrastructure to solve this challenge. Industry analysts estimate more than half of large enterprises in Japan are implementing private cloud in their IT systems to support growth, innovation and agility.

“We've witnessed rapidly growing demand from large enterprises and service providers in Japan for both the performance flash-based storage arrays deliver, along with the ability to enable dense workload consolidation,“ said SolidFire CEO and Founder, Dave Wright. “Nissho Electronics’ expertise in virtualization, cloud computing and data center architecture, coupled with its extensive market reach, will enable SolidFire to meet the Japanese market’s enterprise storage demands.”

“With the rapid expansion of the cloud market, our partnership with SolidFire affords the technologically mature Japanese market with an innovative all-flash storage architecture that meets today’s demands while driving greater consolidation, automation and scale across data center infrastructures,” commented Nissho’s Managing Executive Officer, Toshiki Takatsuka. “Nissho is now able to offer SolidFire’s highly differentiated features, like automated capacity and performance allocation, to enable the rapid deployment of infrastructure, applications and services - at very competitive prices.”
