Mirantis partners with Arrow in UK and Ireland

OpenStack cloud technology company broadens access, distributing commercial-grade open-source cloud offerings in European market.

Mirantis has announced a new distribution agreement with Arrow Electronics, Inc. Arrow will distribute Mirantis OpenStack and OpenStack Express to its broad community of solution providers in the UK and Ireland.

The agreement with Arrow follows the debut of Mirantis’ office in France and European headquarters in Amsterdam.

“OpenStack exploded in EMEA this year, moving quickly from tyre-kicking to real deployments,” said Mirantis EMEA Regional Director, Rajiv Sodhi. “Our collaboration with Arrow will enable enterprises, telecommunication companies, service providers and SaaS vendors to easily procure our zero lock-in OpenStack distribution, vendor-neutral training and our world class end-to-end services.”

“EMEA is hungry to capitalise on the scalability, flexibility and agility of the cloud,” said David Ellis, Director of Strategy, UK and Ireland, Arrow ECS. “Mirantis offers a robust distribution of OpenStack, so it will be a critical offering in readying the enterprise for the cloud revolution.”

Mirantis’ agreement with Arrow will extend Mirantis’ leadership position in the OpenStack community. The company currently holds the largest OpenStack-related deal on record: a five-year software licensing deal with Ericsson, the world leader in the 2G/3G/4G mobile network infrastructure market. It is also the largest provider of OpenStack products and services for the telecommunications industry, serving Orange, Pacnet and Huawei.

Mirantis OpenStack is the zero lock-in distribution that makes cloud deployment easy, flexible and reliable. The distribution is as close to the “trunk” OpenStack release as possible, free of proprietary additions and backed by 24/7 enterprise-grade support. Mirantis OpenStack Express offers OpenStack-on-demand at the push of a button. With just a credit card, customers can provision OpenStack clouds for as little as a day, or as long as they want, without having to sign a long-term contract. Mirantis is also the highest-rated OpenStack training provider, equipping engineers with the tools to setup and deploy production-grade OpenStack clouds of any flavour.
