Exponential-e launches heuristic hybrid Cloud security service

Strategic partnership with Hexis Cyber Solutions will deliver advanced threat protection to distributed IT environments.

To address the evolving threat landscape, Exponential-e, the British Cloud and Networking provider, has launched a heuristic security service for hybrid Cloud deployments. The company has entered into a strategic partnership with Hexis Cyber Solutions (Hexis), a wholly owned subsidiary of The KEYW Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: KEYW), which is a provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions for commercial companies and government agencies. This partnership will work to develop advanced threat protection to UK businesses that helps defend against the emergence of sophisticated new threats costing as much as £1.15 million per breach. The collaboration will aim to reduce the attack vector of organisations as they continue to move towards distributed IT models.

“IT environments are quickly changing to become more dynamic and today’s businesses are often tied into multiple hosted or cloud-based systems,” explained Lee Wade, CEO of Exponential-e. “However, as connectedness increases, so does complexity, with 66 percent [2] of security breaches remaining undiscoverable for months or even years. A new approach to information security is required for organisations to successfully protect themselves against the vulnerabilities that exist in today’s infrastructure.”

The partnership will combineExponential-e’s Cloud-ready network with Hexis’ threat detection and automated removal capabilities. Exponential-e uses its wholly-owned 100 Gigabit Ethernet network to provide seamless and direct private access to the majority of public Cloud providers. Adopting this approach ensures all applications remain on a company’s Local Area Network (LAN) and on the clean side of the firewall, negating data and privacy concerns.

The partnership with Hexis will strengthen Exponential-e’s existing security proposition by providing organisations with the opportunity to use its superfast and uncontested connectivity to power HawkEye G, Hexis’ next generation threat detection and automated removal solution. HawkEye G combines deep forensic scanning of organisational data with sophisticated analytical insight into the latest exploits and the capability to remove threats at machine speed. Through the service, businesses will have the ability to continuously identify, validate and remove advanced threats to limit the risk of the enterprise being compromised.

“Today’s current threat landscape clearly demonstrates that organisations of all sizes are in fact potential targets of sophisticated malware attacks. There is an evident need for more advanced threat detection and malware removal solutions,” said Chris Fedde, President of Hexis Cyber Solutions. “We chose to work with Exponential-e because its wholly-owned network fosters a collaborative work environment that will enable us to remove the barrier to entry and allow smaller companies to start benefiting from advanced threat detection and automated removal.”

Lee Wade concludes: “In a increasingly sophisticated threat landscape, absolute security is a myth. By combining our Cloud and Networking platform with HawkEye G’s intelligent threat detection and automated removal capabilities, we can provide security conscious businesses with a complete end-to-end defence for the hybrid-cloud.”
