As part of the Microsoft Azure Certified programme, the Barracuda Web Application Firewall is now commerce-enabled in the Azure Marketplace. The Azure Commerce Engine offers customers the ability to obtain hourly pricing on certain products directly from Microsoft, reducing time and costs associated with bringing applications to the cloud. This integration streamlines the procurement process for customers who can now license the Barracuda Web Application Firewall, including advanced application security and seamless authentication, at the same time as their cloud migration.

Simplified Application Authentication and Access
The latest update to the Barracuda Web Application Firewall extends Azure support with Azure Active Directory integration and Azure Multi-NIC support. Barracuda is the first infrastructure provider integrated with Azure Active Directory, which provides customers with an easy and secure migration path to Azure that enforces authentication before allowing access to an application. This integration enables customers with complete “lift and shift” to easily move on-premises applications to the cloud without significant application re-writing. Further, the Barracuda Web Application Firewall support for Azure Multi-NIC allows an application to easily send data over multiple networks.

“Once again, Barracuda is simplifying IT and improving the overall customer experience,” said Stephen Pao, GM security, Barracuda. “This latest update on the Barracuda Web Application Firewall to include Azure Active Directory integration removes the painful process of copying user accounts into the cloud and writing significant code to integrate and utilise the Azure AD capabilities, giving customers the same type of access control that they had for their on-premises applications.”

“Cloud computing has become a ‘must-have’ for organisations today, for reasons ranging from economic gains to technology benefits,” said Garth Fort, GM of Enterprise Partners, Microsoft. “However, security remains one of the top concerns for high business impact applications. Our collaboration with Barracuda enables organisations to easily and securely take advantage of the cloud with tightly integrated products and services that deliver time and cost savings.”

The Barracuda Web Application Firewall is available to organisations looking to protect web applications or workloads deployed in Azure. With predefined security templates and load balancing built in, companies have access to robust application security – including protection against data loss, DDoS and application-layer attacks – with no need to learn, configure, and manage complex technology.
