Computacenter has signed a contract with AstraZeneca, an innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of medicines. The new agreement forms part of the AstraZeneca global IT transformation programme, and will see Computacenter delivering onsite IT services to 51,500 users in the UK, France, Germany, US and the Nordic regions, helping to improve productivity and solve technology issues.
The AstraZeneca IT transformation process links directly to its business transformation plan and the three-year contract builds on the existing global service desk arrangement with Computacenter. Under the agreement, Computacenter will operate as the sole provider of onsite IT support, consolidating four previous suppliers, significantly simplifying the supplier operations model. The solution will provide staff with real-time support to improve their technology experience and help users work more effectively.
“We’re very pleased to continue our partnership with AstraZeneca,” says Adrian West, Director of Industry & Commercial, Computacenter. “By streamlining and consolidating user support requirements, we will optimise service delivery, drive down costs and align closely to the new AstraZeneca IT operating model. This partnership will also pave the way for the next generation of IT support services, driving greater efficiencies and will deliver long term customer value.”
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our internal services and offer the best possible experience to our users,” says Leigh Bennett, VP, Infrastructure, Customer Success, Security & Compliance at AstraZeneca. “Computacenter not only understood our strategic vision for IT but also have considerable existing knowledge of our business and service demand”
