GBT, one of the world’s largest travel agency networks, plans to use NetSuite OneWorld to power its core end-to-end financial processes, including financial consolidation across dozens of countries and currencies around the world, as well as order-to-cash and procure-to-pay – all within a single unified software system. With a global rollout of NetSuite OneWorld, GBT plans to leverage the agility, flexibility and scalability of the NetSuite cloud-based business management suite to continue to grow and expand its business around the world while ensuring real-time visibility into its global business operations.

American Express Global Business Travel is a joint venture between American Express and an investor group led by private investment firm Certares that was established in June 2014. GBT employs 14,000 staff across 140 countries and provides businesses around the world with leading travel solutions, integrated consulting services, proprietary research and end-to-end meetings and event management.

Following the joint venture agreement, GBT made the decision to transition its global IT operations to the cloud to drive greater efficiencies and cost savings. In choosing NetSuite OneWorld, GBT selected a cloud-based ERP solution that could be implemented quickly, while also supporting and scaling to GBT’s ongoing global growth.

"We chose NetSuite because we were impressed with the flexibility of its cloud-based ERP, which is essential to supporting our business as we continue to transform and grow,” said Steve Curts, Chief Strategy Officer at American Express Global Business Travel. “The dashboard-driven capabilities of NetSuite OneWorld provide real-time visibility into our global operations, allowing us to operate more efficiently and reliably, which our customers value in our company.”

“NetSuite is excited to have been selected by American Express Global Business Travel as a key partner in its global transformation as a new company,” said Zach Nelson, NetSuite CEO. “GBT has always been a leader in business travel and we are very proud that NetSuite was selected as the platform to support the company’s continued market leadership and global expansion. GBT is the latest company to embrace the NetSuite Cloud, joining other marquee names such as Williams-Sonoma and Shaw Industries. GBT’s decision to choose NetSuite is yet another sign that global organizations are moving to the cloud and choosing NetSuite OneWorld to transform and support their entire global finance operations.”
