Zerto launches Virtual Replication Version 4.0

Zerto has launched Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 (ZVR 4.0). The company’s enterprise-class business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) software is the first to protect, replicate, and migrate data between VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors, as well as across private, hybrid and public cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS). ZVR 4.0 also allows channel partners and cloud service providers to expand their offerings to grow revenues by providing Disaster Recover as a Service (DRaaS) as part of their Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings.

Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 future proofs the IT strategy for all datacenters whether private, public, or a hybrid cloud mix of infrastructure by not being tied to a hypervisor or storage vendor for BC/DR and workload mobility. Moving and protecting workloads across clouds or hypervisors is now simple for IT managers, while still providing robust protection including low recovery times, simplicity of operation and scalability. ZVR 4.0 forms the backbone for Zerto’s Cloud Continuity Initiative, enabling seamless migration of workloads so enterprises can leverage any on premise or cloud environment as demonstrated through the recently completed customer Beta program.

Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0’s new features include:

§ Cross-Hypervisor Replication – Reduces DR and testing/development costs by enabling customers to integrate Microsoft Hyper-V into their VMware-based datacenters. Quick migration of workloads to new IT infrastructures improves ROI and easy replication between hypervisors helps avoid vendor lock-in.
§ Replicate from Private Cloud to AWS – Dramatically reduces IT capital costs and variability with a simple recurring expense, while leveraging AWS for production and on-demand resource access.
§ New HTML5 User Interface – One consistent and intuitive user interface simplifies workloads and management from any device. Wizard-driven virtual protection group creation ensures consistency in the BC/DR process.
