Corning Plug and Play cabling solution named Datacentre Cabling Product of the Year

Corning says that its Plug and Play™ pre-terminated MTP®-to-MTP high fibre count trunk cables recently received the Datacentre “Cabling Product of the Year” at the 2015 Datacentre Solutions Awards in London.

Corning’s Plug and Play high-density MTP connector-based trunk cables address many of the challenges data centres face, such as limited space, heat from densely packed components, and expenses caused by migration to faster networks. Corning’s Plug and Play cables are available with 288, 432, 576, and 864 fibre counts for a significant reduction in physical cable bulk that increases space savings and optimises air flow for cooling energy savings. Plus, the Plug and Play solution is pre-terminated, reducing installation time and cost – and streamlining network moves, adds, and changes for easy scalability.

The “Cabling Product of the Year” category included a range of leading data centre cabling technologies. Products were evaluated on their ability to demonstrate competitive advantage and a clear return on investment for users. The awards were announced on May 14.
