CA Technologies appoints Jeff DeMarrais as Chief Communications Officer

CA Technologies has appointed Jeff DeMarrais as senior vice president and chief communications officer, effective 20th July, 2015. DeMarrais will be based in New York City, reporting to Chief Marketing Officer Lauren P. Flaherty.

“Jeff is a terrific add to the CA team. He’s an accomplished executive with a track record of results from one of the world’s foremost brands,” said Flaherty. “I look forward to having him at the helm of the important brand and communications work we are doing both inside and outside CA.”

DeMarrais most recently served as GE Healthcare's Chief Communications Officer responsible for managing and strengthening the company's reputation through integrated communications campaigns. In addition, he also led the communications strategy to expand GE's Industrial Internet IoT initiative outside the United States.

DeMarrais joined GE in 1997 as a publicity manager on NBC's corporate communications team and moved to GE Corporate in 1999. He held roles of increasing responsibility over the course of his 18-year GE career including communications leader for GE Transportation, Specialty Materials, Infrastructure, Plastics and Technology Infrastructure businesses. In each of these roles, he was responsible for leading both external and internal communications. DeMarrais also served as chief operating officer for GE global communications from 2007-2009.

Prior to GE, DeMarrais worked in public relations at John Wiley & Sons. He holds a dual bachelor's degree in History and Spanish from Colgate University.

“I am thrilled to join CA at a pivotal time for both the company and the business software industry,” said DeMarrais. “Business is being rewritten by software, and there is a huge opportunity for the communications function to support and grow CA's expanded leadership role in the application economy."
