iland has introduced the latest release of its hosted Enterprise Cloud Services platform that delivers advanced security, compliance and cloud management capabilities for mid-market organisations.

The enhanced platform, dubbed iland Enterprise Cloud Services – Advanced Security (ECS-AS), layers additional security controls and thorough reporting atop the core platform. Mid-market organisations, as well as Software-as-a-Service companies have, thus far, struggled to meet the stringent security requirements and customer compliance expectations with big-box cloud offerings. Recognising this gap, iland created ECS-AS to broaden its already strong value proposition to this market, including its exceptional customer support and industry-leading cloud management.

The iland Enterprise Cloud Services platform, including ECS-AS, comes with a powerful and newly redesigned management console with a clean, smart interface that provides the state-of-the-art configuration, integrated components for performance and cost monitoring, charting and alerting typically available only through expensive third-party tools.

“The mid-market is frequently underestimated when it comes to their IT requirements in general and cloud needs in particular,” said Dennis Drogseth, Vice President of analyst firm, Enterprise Management Associates. “Regulatory, compliance and security constraints can create seemingly insurmountable barriers for mid-sized organisations in industries such as healthcare finance, banking or insurance. At the same time, gaining access to the necessary management tools to fully realise the benefits of cloud can be next to impossible for these companies. Given these requirements, iland’s new capabilities for mid-market security and compliance are right on target.”

“Cloud users are burdened by the absence of integrated security solutions, requiring them to mitigate gaps via a host of disparate technologies,” said Justin Giardina, CTO, iland. “With iland’s new ECS Advanced Security platform, users turn on virtual machines and find that with the click of a button all of their security checklists have already been completed. In the wake of recent high-profile hacking incidents, this convenience and peace of mind have never been more important.”

The iland ECS-Advanced Security platform is designed to enable customers with heightened needs for security and compliance to still benefit from public cloud. In the past, these organisations had to build costly private clouds, which are far less flexible and far more hassle than a public cloud alternative.

Now, with security and compliance support embedded in the public cloud platform, these organisations can have the best of both worlds. Integrated seamlessly into the iland Enterprise Cloud Services management console, customers have access to powerful, new features with comprehensive reporting including:

· Antivirus and malware detection
· Accelerated storage with encryption at rest
· Whole disk encryption
· Event history, including log inspection and access logs
· Support requests
· Role Based Access Control
· Dual Factor Authentication
· Vulnerability Scanning
· IPSEC and SSL-VPN
· Firewall Inspection
· Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IPS/IDS)
· Integrity Monitoring
· Encrypted Backups

In partnership with best-of-breed technology vendors such as Trend Micro and Hytrust, iland is broadening its platform, bringing the sophistication of enterprise-class security and compliance to mid-market organisations around the world.

The iland ECS-Advanced Security platform rests upon the solid foundation of security delivered by iland’s Enterprise Cloud Services offering, which is designed to support the needs of each and every cloud user, including two-factor authentication, role-based access controls, vulnerability scanning and VPN.

In the latest update to the iland Enterprise Cloud Service management console, the design and usability have been revamped to enable greater ease-of-use and transparency of information. Improvements include more contextually-pertinent information, graphs and charts that present both granular and high level views, flexible role-based presentation options and embedded help and support. The inline-help and new wiki complement our 24x7 customer support, which strives to deliver the best cloud support for our global customers.
