Clavister has detailed a major deployment for a major government ministry in Malaysia supporting an advanced virtual application for service delivery, in partnership with distributor Infocircle.
The department is currently developing an application using hosted cloud infrastructure in one of its data centers to host services and data. It is using the Clavister W30 next-generation firewall for firewalling, Application Control and server load balancing to control internet access.
The agency initially deployed two Clavister W5 appliances at its headquarters in 2012, replacing a previous security solution. Since 2014, it has also been using E7 firewalls at its nationwide branch office and is planning to expand its use of Clavister’s security features in the future.
Jim Carlsson, CEO of Clavister said: “This deployment demonstrates that Clavister is trusted by national government organizations that handle highly sensitive data and therefore require the best quality of security. It also highlights our growing presence in the Asia region following other recent deployments in Japan. The W30 product in particular is proving to be popular at branch offices as organizations look for robust security at a competitive price point.”
The W30 is ideal for mid-sized enterprises and data-centers, delivering firewall performance of up to 8Gbps, providing a powerful, and expandable network security solution, at an attractive price point, offering enhanced port flexibility via its interface expansion module slot, a selection of port options, and greater scalability to meet all future business requirements. It can also support up to a million concurrent connections and delivers up to 300Mbps VPN performance.
The W30 solution supports Clavister’s next-generation firewall services including True Application Control, Content Security Services and User Identity Awareness. It also includes additional features such as server load balancing, WAN load balancing and DDoS protection which help ensure network performance.
