Mr. Munford brings extensive global information security leadership expertise having served as Sophos’ CEO from 2006 to 2012. During that time, he led the company through a dramatic period of growth, more than tripling bookings. Prior to his role as CEO, Mr. Munford served as President of Sophos for North America and then Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the day-to-day running of the company and its senior management team. Previously, he was President of ActiveState before its acquisition by Sophos in 2003. Under his leadership, ActiveState established itself as a global leader in email security software.

In addition to overseeing Sophos’ growth into an industry leader with billings of $400 million, Mr. Munford also sits on various boards and acts as an advisor to companies in the cloud computing and security technology industries, including Sophos, Carbonite, Teradici, Elastic Path, Quick Mobile and Utimaco.
