Public platform for Fantastic Cloud

DataCentred will broaden its own range of services to include data backup, rescue, recovery and business continuity.

DataCentred has partnered with Fantastic Cloud Services to power its Software as a Service (SaaS) offering for SMEs. The partnership will also enable Fantastic Cloud Services to broaden its service offering and fulfil customer demand for cloud infrastructure.

DataCentred will also further expand its own range of products and services by reselling Fantastic Cloud Service’s managed services, including cloud backup, disaster recovery and business continuity as well as file archiving to its own customer base. Serving the SME market, Fantastic Cloud Services offers a complete outsourced software-defined managed service based on several award winning products. These products enable their customers to protect their data and swiftly deploy in any recovery environment.

As a result of strong demand, Fantastic Cloud Services had been looking to offer its customers a secure and scalable public cloud to help them expand their capabilities for DR and benefit from enterprise class recovery options that historically have always been too costly for SME organisations to deploy.  DataCentred was chosen because of the security and flexibility of its UK-owned and operated public cloud, based on OpenStack architecture, offers and which complies with UK data privacy regulations.

Aside from these features, DataCentred’s OpenStack architecture has several further advantages, including removing vendor lock-in which allows users to cost effectively explore different IT vendors to help them decide which services and tools are best suited to their requirements. Meanwhile, the vast community of cutting edge developers that work continually to improve OpenStack’s open source code means that Fantastic Cloud Services’ enterprise customers will benefit from the latest innovation in software.

The partnership forms part of DataCentred’s wider strategy of building a channel network with IT resellers and regional network providers and to broaden its own range of highly connected IT services and solutions for the benefit of its customers.
Dr Mike Kelly, CEO of DataCentred said: “We are very pleased to be working with Fantastic Cloud Services to offer its award-winning cloud back up, disaster recovery and business continuity services to our customers. Both of our businesses understand that cutting-edge technology is crucial to the continual enhancement of our products and services – innovation and development is central to the OpenStack ethos, something that Fantastic Cloud Services shares and is very apparent in the quality of its products and services. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
