Bitdefender has promoted Mihaela Paun to Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, and Ciprian Istrate to Vice President of Consumer Solutions, to further accelerate the impressive development of the company. This step is part of the company-wide initiative to establish dedicated teams for each business segment in both consumer and enterprise, and cement the company’s position as the provider of the world’s most-trusted cyber security technology.
Under the pairs’ leadership, Bitdefender consumer security solution sales consistently beat the average industry growth rate. “The consumer business grew globally at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 per cent in the last three years, in a market where the major players’ sales decreased or were at a standstill,” states Bogdan Irina, Bitdefender’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our objective is to further accelerate that gain. Our market-changing integrated home cyber security solution Bitdefender BOX will play an important role in reaching our objective.”
Leading a team of 50, Mihaela Paun will develop consumer business in markets such as the Netherlands, Japan and Canada. By focusing on innovative sales techniques and using the most advanced technologies of digital communication, Mihaela Paun will develop the global strategy for the integrated home cybersecurity solution Bitdefender BOX, which protects all internet-connected devices in a home, pioneering a completely new category in the security industry. Paun, who has been at Bitdefender since 2002, is a founder of the digital marketing division and the coordinator of online sales, the main distribution channel for consumer security solutions.
Ciprian Istrate, previously Global Marketing Director, has been at Bitdefender since 2003 and coordinated the company’s rebranding in 2011, helping position Bitdefender’s innovative technologies in the global cyber security industry. He will lead a team of 100 people in Product Management, Product Marketing, Customer Care, Marketing Intelligence, User Experience and Marketing Agency, and will shape the vision and the strategy of the future consumer product portfolio.
