China Telecom Beijing Research Institute and ZTE sign strategic cooperation agreement

 ZTE Corporation has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Telecom Beijing Research Institute to develop cutting edge technologies including software-defined networking/network function virtualisation (SDN/NFV), 4G+/5G and IoT related technologies.

Li Zhigang, President of the China Telecom Beijing Research Institute, Zhang Chengliang, Vice President of the China Telecom Beijing Research Institute and Liu Peng, Vice President of ZTE were among leaders and experts who attended the signing ceremony on March 24, 2016.
 
Both parties will work closely together, sharing resources to develop more sophisticated network technologies that will support China Telecom’s network construction and service reconstruction. The collaboration will also benefit the wider industry by bringing more advanced, cutting-edge technologies and innovations to market.
 
“As we enter the artificial intelligence era, operators are expected to provide a full range of network solutions. Through this partnership, we will be able to significantly advance SDN/NFV, 4G+/5G, cloud computing and big data technologies in the coming years. I believe the new technologies will become a reality through pilot deployments”, said Mr. Zhang Chengliang, Vice President of the China Telecom Beijing Research Institute. “I look forward to deepening our collaboration from a pure network aspect, to information and communication technology developments such as ZTE’s Yinchuan smart city project.”
