Minkels launches safety-enhancing LED Tubes for aisle containment

In order to ensure a safer and healthier working environment within data centres, Minkels now offers energy efficient and flexible-to-install LED Tubes, which are optimized for data centre aisle containment infrastructure. The high-luminosity feature of Minkels LED Tubes allows for greatly improved visibility thus safety inside data centres.

Minkels LED Tubes are available in two variants. In the first situation the LED Tubes are on 24/7. In the second situation, the LED Tubes are activated by means of a PIR sensor that detects movement. The LED Tubes then go off automatically as soon as someone leaves the corridor, which responds to energy efficiency and sustainability requirements in data centre environments.
The Minkels LED Tubes are designed for two types of aisle containment solutions including Minkels Next Generation Corridors and Minkels Free Standing Corridors. Its flexible features make Minkels LED Tubes a good fit for a wide variety of corridor layouts.
With this product launch, Minkels is responding to the increased global customer demand for security and safety solutions for data centres (Gartner, 2015 CIO Survey and Forrester, Sizing the cloud security market).
High visibility, easy-to-install
The high luminosity (335 LUX) and energy efficiency of Minkels LED Tubes are very useful when applied in the aisles of Free Standing Corridors or Next Generation Corridors, according to Minkels. Especially when using black coloured racks and corridors, these LED Tubes provide a desired visibility level needed to create a safety advantage. In addition, the LED Tubes provide optimum working conditions in accordance with standard EN12464-1.
Mounting Minkels LED Tubes is an easy task through the use of magnet systems. They also allow for an easy expansion of the tubes through the use of extension cables, which are covered by caps to create an integrated look-and-feel. The official IEC 62471:2006 certification guarantees that this product meets the highest safety requirements when it comes to eye protection.
