SUSE helps resellers extend software benefits to the cloud

SUSE Reseller Hosting lets partners host SUSE products for customers within existing SUSE partnership framework.

SUSE has introduced a new programme that allows resellers of SUSE subscriptions to host SUSE software products on behalf of their end-user customers, providing more flexibility to both resellers and end customers as they extend the benefits of SUSE products beyond customers’ on-site data centres.

“Many of our customers are finding value in partnering with a managed cloud provider so they can stay fast and lean and focus their limited resources on their core business and on driving innovation,” said Ronald de Jong, president of sales at SUSE. “SUSE Reseller Hosting enables our reseller partners to easily create new offerings to serve these customers within their existing SUSE partnership framework, while growing the important relationships our SUSE end-user customers rely on.”

A recent report from 451 Research* found managed services at cloud service providers are growing at a compound annual growth rate of 26 percent and are projected to account for 36 percent of total cloud market revenue in 2018. Greg Zwakman, research director for 451 Research, said, “Importantly, managed services revenue – for both multi-tenant and single-tenant cloud services – is growing 60 percent faster than revenue from infrastructure-only services. So managed services revenue will account for an increasing share of overall cloud service provider revenue going forward.”

SUSE Reseller Hosting simplifies the move to managed services, allowing SUSE resellers to provide hosting services around SUSE products within their existing SUSE relationship. Resellers now have a low-touch way to realise new recurring revenue streams by extending their suite of offerings through managed hosting. SUSE Reseller Hosting complements the existing SUSE reseller programme which enables SUSE partners to resell SUSE subscriptions for use in customers’ on-premise data centres.
