Zayo introduces Encryption As A Service

Leading multinational bank among initial customers.

As part of its commitment to security, Zayo Group Holdings now offers Encryption as a Service for customers. Zayo’s initial customers include a leading global bank using the service to encrypt credit card transaction data, enabling them to maintain compliance with international security standards.

Zayo’s Encryption as a Service, which leverages Ciena’s® WaveLogic Encryption solution, provides managed wavelength services configured with 10G wire speed encryption at Layer 1, with additional higher speed options in progress. The solution provides a high level of secure encryption and is easily integrated into a customer’s network.

“Data security continues to be one of the top concerns for global industries, an issue that’s been intensified by recent high-profile attacks in healthcare, retail, banks, hospitality and entertainment,” said Dennis Kyle, senior vice president of Strategic Marketing and Alliances at Zayo. “Our encryption solution is quick and easy to provision and provides high levels of protection without sacrificing network performance. It’s another way we are providing a critical layer of security to protect our customers.”

Physical security and robust security protocols have always been foundational to Zayo’s network and infrastructure. To provide customers with even greater levels of protection, Zayo offers a range of integrated security services. In addition to Encryption as a Service, Zayo offers DDoS mitigation, which provides filtering and redirection in case of a distributed denial of service attack.

Customers will be able to quote and order Encryption as a Service via Zayo’s Tranzact online self-service platform in the coming months.
