Welsh win

Award winning UK based technical services specialist, Sudlows, has been appointed one of only two national suppliers to provide Structured Cabling services to the Welsh National Procurement Service (NPS), following a comprehensive tender selection process.

Andy Hanlon Enterprise Services Director added, “This new national framework is a significant opportunity for the Enterprise Services team at Sudlows to deliver outstanding connectivity installations projects across the critical national institutions and buildings throughout Wales.”

The NPS for Wales was set up in November 2013 with the aim of providing over ?1bn of goods and services, or 20-30% of the annual budget for the Welsh Government.

The total efficiency savings expected from this amount to ?25m a year.

Though implemented by the Welsh Government and their ‘Invest to Save Fund’ with initial loans, the NPS aims to be self-funding by FY2016-17.

73 organisations have agreed to be part of this initiative which gives Sudlows unique access to supply the connectivity needs of all local authorities, the NHS, Welsh Government, Police and Fire services, universities and institutes of higher/further education and many more glorious welsh institutions

NPS is split into 6 categories: construction and FM, Corporate and business support, fleet and transport, ICT, people and utilities, professional services. The total ICT spend is worth ?176m per annum.
