DDN names Robert Triendl SVP Global Sales, Marketing and Field Services

DataDirect Networks (DDN) has promoted Robert Triendl to senior vice president of global sales, marketing and field services. Leveraging his more than eight years of experience successfully leading DDN’s Asia Pacific, European and Japanese markets, Triendl will now focus on accelerating the worldwide adoption of DDN’s end-to-end storage solutions, which enable organisations to speed time to discovery from their data, on premises and in the cloud.

“Having successfully built and led teams across various parts of the world, including Europe, Asia Pacific and Japan, Robert is a demonstrated strategic leader with deep technical know-how, an uncompromising focus on customer satisfaction, and a keen ability to anticipate market changes,” said Alex Bouzari, CEO and co-founder, DDN. “Organisations are increasingly looking for end-to-end, cloud and open source enabled solutions to their real time business intelligence and data management challenges. These new trends, while disruptive to many companies, are creating significant opportunities for DDN, and Robert will accelerate our growth in the scalable, high performance data markets where DDN has been a leader for more than a decade,” he concluded.
The HPC and big data storage markets are evolving as organisations increasingly seek comprehensive solutions, and explore open source and commodity options, while at the same time shifting portions of their infrastructures into the cloud. These new trends represent a significant growth opportunity for DDN since these trends create the need for solutions and architectures that are complex, distributed, large scale and data centric – all areas where DDN has excelled for almost two decades.
Triendl will drive the strategic growth, profitability and innovation he has successfully delivered in Asia and Europe into the company’s worldwide footprint. He will be responsible for DDN’s global sales, marketing, product marketing and product management, field services and support functions.

“I am very pleased to welcome Robert to his new leadership role for DDN’s global sales, marketing, product marketing, product management, field services and support functions,” said Paul Bloch, president and co-founder, DDN. “Robert’s keen sense of strategic execution and deep product knowledge, combined with his unwavering commitment to strong customer and partner relationships, will be powerful assets as we take DDN to its next levels of success and growth.”

“DDN has a long history of technological innovation, a great team and a phenomenal market opportunity,” said Triendl. “I am excited to help realize what I believe is tremendous potential to extend our unmatched delivery of performance and capacity at scale – far beyond what most can even imagine.”
