Fujitsu launches highly available, secure data centre systems

Fujitsu has introduced PRIMERGY servers shipping with the newly-released Microsoft Windows Server 2016 (WS16) operating system. This winning combination brings customers both increased flexibility and enhanced security features while also making it easier for enterprises to embrace the benefits of secure and agile cloud infrastructures.

The move to WS16 on fully-certified Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers enables enterprises to transition seamlessly from traditional applications and data center infrastructure to cloud-based computing with software-defined compute, storage and networking capabilities, coupled with the ability to create private cloud environments.

The fusion of leading software from Microsoft and hardware from Fujitsu also delivers enhanced security features. Available immediately, and without any price increases, Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers running WS16 offer advanced capabilities including built-in breach resistance to establish privileged access control and to help deter and repel system attacks. Meanwhile, Fujitsu offers not only a state-of-the-art secure hardware foundation with TPM 2.0 security features embedded in its PRIMERGY servers, but also a complementary portfolio to handle many additional security challenges. For example, the recently announced SURIENT Managed Rack Solution (MRS), represents a new physical security solution for data centers, designed to prevent unauthorized physical access to servers, data, storage and network components. Fujitsu also offers advanced biometric technologies that can be deployed for end-user authentication or access control.
Select Fujitsu PRIMERGY server systems are Microsoft certified for compatibility with Windows Server 2016. By choosing a certified PRIMERGY product, deployment is simplified and even first-time server installations can be up and running very quickly to support enterprises’ digitalization projects. The updated line-up of preconfigured servers comprises:

  • PRIMERGY RX2540 M2, RX2530 M2 and future servers are compatible with Hyper-V Clusters.
  • PRIMERGY RX4770 M3 is optimized for in-memory computing and large virtualization projects, with its support for up to 6TB RAM.
