HyperGrid expands into sub-Saharan Africa

Enterprise Cloud-as-a-Service now available in Africa for the first time in major channel expansion for HyperGrid.

HyperGrid is set to expand its global footprint following the signing of a new sub-Saharan African Value-Added distributor, Networks Unlimited. This is the first such partnership in Africa encompassing the growing South African market, as well as Kenya and several other sub-Saharan countries.

Networks Unlimited itself is a rapidly growing Value-Added Distributor, offering the best and latest solutions within the converged technology, data centre, networking, and security landscapes.

HyperGrid, the enterprise cloud service company that provides public-cloud services on-premises through HyperCloud, will make this service available in all African countries that Networks Unlimited has representation, helping the region’s enterprises accelerate a shift from building IT to consuming IT, while maintaining control and reducing costs.

“It is the only consumption-based, cloud service for the enterprise on-premises, with integrated governance and control for DevOps management and orchestration for any application on bare-metal, VMs and containers, and on any cloud,” said Doug Rich, VP of EMEA at HyperGrid. “You can have your own public cloud within your data centre, based on elastic infrastructure, fabric compute, storage and networking services. We believe that cloud is a model, not a destination. Any company can transform their IT into an agile cloud utility with HyperCloud.”

“HyperCloud’s rapid scaling and no upfront cost allow our African customers to bring applications to market faster,” added Anton Jacobsz, managing director of Networks Unlimited. “Its capabilities, combined with multi-cloud management and orchestration and delivery via a consumption model, offer a truly compelling value proposition. HyperGrid is IT simplified for business, delivering unmatched simplicity, scale and economics that accelerate business innovation, growth, and long-term success.”

Benefits of HyperCloud include the containerisation of legacy apps in minutes, moving apps between more than 18 public and on-premises clouds, and pay-as-you-go consumption or subscription based pricing. Furthermore, HyperCloud provides an AWS-like environment as a fully managed stack on-premises or hosted deployment along with application and platform services across any cloud or infrastructure. It also offers security, control and governance for IT, with agility and flexibility for developers.

An advantage for CIOs is that the solution enables line-of-business to innovate by providing them with the right platform to develop, deploy, and manage applications in an agile and flexible way while maintaining governance and control.

For IT operations, it removes the complexity of managing infrastructure with lifecycle automation and a fully integrated infrastructure stack.

Developers can still use their favourite tools and build applications on their platform of choice, allowing the deployment to get to production stage faster, whether on-premise or in the cloud.

“Many organisations are looking to modernise legacy applications to remove infrastructure dependencies and to take full advantage of the scale and performance of the cloud. HyperCloud is a fully managed stack delivered on-premise or as a hosted deployment along with application and platform services across any cloud or infrastructure. HyperCloud requires no upfront CapEx, enabling customers to innovate and reduce cost and complexity,” concluded Doug Rich.
