A one-year distance learning program, the Certified Data Centre Sustainability Professional (CDCSP®) provides flexibility and convenience of learning for busy data centre professionals as they log in from across the globe. The learning, managed and supported by CNet’s in-house team, is split into three terms.
1. Understanding Sustainability and the Business Approach
2. Technological and Operational Approach to Sustainability
3. Implementing Sustainability
The in-depth content walks through all stages of data centre sustainability from strategic vision and business drivers, operational analysis of power, cooling and IT hardware, operational processes and procedures, risk evaluation and mitigation, to design innovation and implementing initiatives, whilst appreciating the business and operational challenges that can be encountered. Maintenance strategies, continuous planning and critical analysis against identified targets and demonstrating ROI are also explored.
Design and creation of the program was undertaken by CNet’s Technical Architect Adrian Jones, who worked with representatives from over seventy business, operations, design, sustainability and manufacturer environments from across the world, including members of the Technical Curriculum Advisory Board (TCAB), to gain insight and contribution, and ensure the program content is current and reflects the on-going needs of the sector.
Successful learners gain CDCSP® certification, a post nominal title and a level six Diploma qualification, equivalent to a Bachelors Degree. CNet is the only technical education provider for the data centre sector in the world to award both official certifications and internationally recognised qualifications.
Adrian Jones comments, “To develop a sustainable future within mission critical facilities, there is a need to consider the requirements of today whilst protecting the environment and resources for the future. I am personally excited by the CDCSP® content, it is a powerful program that can really make a difference when achieving data centre sustainability whilst demonstrating business benefits and an all important ROI.”
Andrew Steven’s, President and CEO of CNet adds, “A focus on sustainability is a natural progression for CNet to sit at qualification level six on the Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework. It fully complements the level five programs that focus on data centre design, management, energy efficiency and auditing. Being such a high-level program, it is not going to be easy, yet the knowledge data centre professionals will gain as a result will be hugely valuable.”
The CDCSP® is structured for senior data centre operational & facilities management, team leaders and senior engineers wishing to maximise unite existing knowledge with new learning concerning achieving a sustainability focused strategy within their mission critical facility.
