Bitglass and Okta partner

Bitglass,  the Next-Gen CASB company, and Okta, a leading independent provider of identity for the enterprise, has announced a technology partnership to bring real-time data and threat protection to enterprises moving to the cloud.

In partnering with Okta, Bitglass is now able to leverage the capabilities of Okta’s cloud-based identity and access management (IDaaS) platform with Bitglass’ cloud access security broker (CASB) solution that can seamlessly authenticate users, prevent unauthorised accesses, and limit the impact of compromised credentials. Bitglass’ end-to-end visibility, data protection, and threat protection, combined with the rich adaptive access policies of the Okta Identity Cloud is designed to deliver a premier security and access solution. This integration is built to support any platform, including SaaS, IaaS, and private cloud applications.

“Okta has already proven a tremendous partner as we’ve worked to deepen our product integration and create a seamless experience for customers looking to deploy CASB,” said Rich Campagna, CMO and SVP Products at Bitglass. “This combined solution leverages the strengths of our real-time CASB solution and Okta’s zero-touch IAM platform to make for a simplified identity and security solution that’s transparent to users and functional for administrators.”

“It is imperative that CISOs and security professionals do everything to remove complexity when moving to the cloud without sacrificing the organisation’s or the end-user’s experience or security,” said Chuck Fontana, Vice President of Okta Integrations and Strategic Partnerships, Okta. “Our ongoing work and expanded partnership with Bitglass only fuels cloud adoption for enterprises of all sizes, and also enables a secure way of conducting business in today’s digital age with agility and ease of use while interacting with business-critical applications.”

Capabilities of the combined solution include single sign-on (SSO) for both protected apps, as well as any application that supports SAML for SSO, Active Directory synchronisation and authentication, and adaptive multi-factor  authentication (AMFA).

Bitglass’ dual-SAML termination ensures that the strength of Okta’s SAML SSO is preserved without the added phishing risk that comes with some architectures. Bitglass can orchestrate step-up authentication via Okta AMFA, even during an established session, requiring users to provide additional authentication to access corporate data.
