Cloudhouse launches MSIX Enterprise Edition

Allows organizations to migrate every application to Microsoft’s latest packaging format immediately without rewriting the application.

Cloudhouse has released Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition - an innovative new platform to allow organizations to begin the immediate adoption of Microsoft’s new MSIX packaging format for every app, old or new. The Cloudhouse solution is built upon Microsoft’s recently announced MSIX foundation for its latest application packaging format, which will supersede MSI, AppV and Universal Windows Platform’s AppX format.
Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition will enable IT Pros to migrate every new, existing or legacy desktop and server applications seamlessly to MSIX, and will offer the easiest, quickest and most cost-effective route to the new Microsoft format. By utilizing Cloudhouse’s proven Compatibility Containers, developed over the last 8 years, Enterprises will future-proof their applications, ensuring they will be compatible with the Cloud and Windows 10 today and with future updates, with no rewrites or code changes required.
MSIX will quickly become the new default format for app developers and will enable them to package and create installers for their applications and benefit from deployment, configuration and security improvements. Building on Microsoft’s MSIX foundation, Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition modernizes the behavior of existing applications so that they take advantage of the latest best practices and are unblocked from any legacy dependencies. Therefore, applications packaged in Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition will never need to be packaged again, no matter what changes in Windows in the future.
“We are proud to work with Microsoft to offer a route to reaching MSIX for Enterprise applications, mitigating the need for lengthy and costly application rewrites,” explained Mat Clothier, CEO, CTO and Founder at Cloudhouse. “By using Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition, organizations can get started immediately on their migration to the new packaging format and achieve the security and functionality benefits it provides without delay. Those who adopt the new format by using Cloudhouse MSIX Enterprise Edition will do so safe in the knowledge that their application will be compatible with all future updates, making this the last time they will need to package apps.”
