Leviton has expanded its portfolio of Pre-Terminated Copper Trunk Cables with new Cat 6, Cat 6A, Cat 7 and Cat 8 rated options, and now offers additional bundle sizes for greater flexibility. The new trunks allow for faster network deployment to bring new equipment online quickly and minimize downtime during moves, adds and changes. Most trunks can be configured and manufactured within two weeks at Leviton’s EMEA Data Centre Factory, with rapid shipping to jobsites throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
“Leviton’s expanded line of copper trunks gives enterprise and data center network managers even more options to configure the exact solution they need,” said Kirk Krahn, senior product manager at Leviton Network Solutions. “They can rely on precision factory terminations and even faster deployment, as our trunks can reduce installation time by up to 80%.”
The expanded line of copper trunks comes at a time when data centers and offices are looking to limit foot traffic in facilities due to the global pandemic. This makes pre-terminated assemblies an even more appealing option, since they significantly reduce deployment time on-site compared to field-terminated installations.
The trunks can be ordered in cable counts from 2 to 12, with a range of factory terminated jack and/or plug configurations. The trunks use popular Atlas-X1TM and eXtremeTM jacks, which feature patented Retention Force Technology that extends connector life by preventing tine damage after repeated connections.
