nLighten expands leadership team

nLighten is expanding its leadership team with the appointment of two senior executives: Hans Nipshagen as Vice President Channel Sales, AI and Platform Sales, and Arno van Gennip as Vice President Operations Enablement. These strategic additions are part of nLighten’s ongoing growth across Europe and reinforce nLighten’s commitment to delivering high-performance, sustainable digital infrastructure close to its customers.

Hans Nipshagen joined the company on May 1st, bringing over two decades of experience in enterprise sales, channel strategy, and regional leadership. Before joining nLighten, Hans held the role of Regional Vice President, Channel Sales EMEA at Akamai Technologies, where he successfully restructured the company’s EMEA channel sales organization to improve scalability and alignment with the direct sales teams. During his 13-year tenure at Akamai, Hans also led cybersecurity sales efforts in the Middle East, Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe, and served as Benelux Site Leader and statutory board member for Akamai’s Dutch and international operations.

Arno van Gennip joined nLighten in April, bringing extensive leadership experience in operations across critical infrastructure and sustainability. He most recently served as VP Global IBX Operations Engineering at Equinix, overseeing global operations engineering. During his nine years at Equinix, Arno also led strategic initiatives in operational environmental sustainability, facility operations, and engineering transformation. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Colt Technology Services in various senior roles, overseeing the design, delivery, and technical infrastructure of data centers across Western Europe.

“Welcoming Hans and Arno to the leadership team is a significant milestone for nLighten as we scale across Europe,” said Harro Beusker, CEO and Co-Founder of nLighten. “Hans brings invaluable expertise in building thriving partner ecosystems across complex markets, while Arno’s operational leadership and sustainability focus will be crucial as we grow responsibly. Both are strategic hires that will strengthen our capabilities and help position nLighten as a leading edge data center platform in Europe.”

As nLighten continues to expand its footprint with sustainable, low-latency data centers across core business hubs in Europe, the appointments of Hans Nipshagen and Arno van Gennip reflect the company’s commitment to combining deep local expertise with strong pan-European leadership.
