Exabeam, known for its intelligence and automation solutions within security operations, has taken a step by introducing a connected system of AI-driven security workflows. Designed to shield organisations from AI usage risks and monitor AI agent activity, this extends Exabeam's user and entity behaviour analytics (UEBA). It introduces new capabilities in AI agent behaviour analytics, unified investigative timelines, and improved AI agent security posture visibility.
AI agents, though prevalent, pose significant challenges, often sharing sensitive information, sidestepping internal protocols, and implementing unsanctioned modifications without oversight. In September 2025, Exabeam introduced UEBA capabilities designed to detect AI agent activity through its collaboration with Google Gemini Enterprise. This integration aims to enable businesses to detect, investigate, and address AI agent activity comprehensively.
By unifying AI investigations, these advancements seek to empower security teams to evaluate AI security postures with precision, strengthening defences with maturity tracking, targeted recommendations, and refined data analytics. Collectively, these features offer security leaders a framework to comprehend AI activity, expedite investigations, and support security as AI adoption grows.
Steve Wilson, Chief AI and Product Officer at Exabeam, emphasised the necessity of understanding typical and risky AI agent behaviours, noting UEBA’s role in supporting early risk identification and faster investigation of AI agent activity. Wilson notes that this release advances Exabeam’s agent behaviour analytics, supporting resilience as AI is adopted in operational workflows.
Pete Harteveld, Exabeam's CEO, highlighted the potential of AI agents in transforming business operations, contingent on responsible governance. Harteveld affirms that Exabeam's capabilities provide executives with the insights to ensure secure AI adoption, safeguarding their constituents and the wider ecosystem from evolving AI threats.
As enterprises increasingly implement AI, understanding and governing AI agent behaviour is critical. Joep Kremer, Business Unit Director at ilionx, noted Exabeam's capabilities for offering comprehensive insights into AI agent deviations, unified investigative capabilities, and continuous posture enhancements. This interconnected visibility is instrumental for protecting both their organisations and clients.
This launch reflects a notable shift in the industry: traditional static tools may be insufficient for managing dynamic, decision-making AI. Some experts foresee AI agent oversight as a cornerstone of security by 2026, complementing identity, cloud, and data protection.
By combining behavioural analytics, centralised investigation, and AI security posture visibility, Exabeam extends its capabilities in AI agent behaviour analytics, supporting enterprise efforts to protect digital workforce security.
