11:11 Systems, a provider of managed infrastructure solutions, has worked with Centacare Catholic Community Services, one of South Australia’s providers of social and community support, on a disaster recovery infrastructure project.
Centacare has operated for more than 80 years. Its existing disaster recovery system had reached end-of-support status and lacked air-gapping, creating potential exposure to ransomware risks. The organisation also reported challenges in conducting isolated failover procedure testing, raising concerns about system resilience in the event of cyber incidents.
Rather than replacing only the existing hardware, Centacare partnered with 11:11 Systems to implement a broader infrastructure update. The deployment included 11:11 Disaster Recovery as a Service for Zerto, 11:11 Cloud Backup for Veeam Cloud Connect, and 11:11 Object Storage for AWS. The approach aimed to transition the organisation from a reactive disaster recovery model to a more structured and resilient framework.
The introduction of 11:11’s S3-compatible storage enabled Centacare to reduce Azure data storage costs. The savings were redirected toward expanding backup storage capacity, with an emphasis on maintaining secure and immutable data storage.
The outcome is described as a modernised air-gapped disaster recovery setup designed to address current cyber threats while improving cost efficiency. The project updated infrastructure capabilities and incorporated additional resilience measures.
11:11 Systems provides managed infrastructure solutions focused on supporting the modernisation, security, and management of applications and data within cloud environments.
