Commvault, known for its enterprise-scale data resilience platform, has announced an expansion of its Commvault Flex partner ecosystem. The latest additions include Hitachi Vantara and NetApp, with a focus on organisations managing large and dynamic datasets.
Commvault Flex, previously called HyperScale Flex, is designed to provide data protection and resilience. It uses a flexible architecture that can connect to external high-performance flash storage pools. This development aligns with projections that AI-ready data centre capacity demand may grow at an average annual rate of around 33%, driven by increased use of AI in operational and critical applications.
With the growth of AI-generated data, there is an increased requirement for solutions that can scale performance and capacity independently of traditional compute and storage approaches. These types of solutions may support organisations in scaling recovery of critical systems, reducing the need for overprovisioning, lowering costs, and helping maintain service level agreements.
The expanded Flex ecosystem includes partners such as Everpure, HPE, and VAST Data, and now also incorporates Hitachi Vantara and NetApp. This broader set of partnerships provides enterprises with more options for cyber recovery performance while maintaining compatibility with their existing storage vendors. Commvault Flex is available as a software image that can be installed on validated server hardware and connected to partner storage systems.
