UK Connect has announced a partnership with Amazon Leo, Amazon's Low Earth orbit satellite network. Under the agreement, UK Connect becomes an authorised reseller, providing satellite internet services to UK enterprises, with an initial focus on the construction, warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
The agreement combines Amazon's satellite network with UK Connect's connectivity services for organisations operating in locations where traditional connectivity may be limited. The Amazon Leo satellite network, which consists of a constellation of thousands of satellites, is designed to provide broadband coverage to areas that have traditionally been underserved by conventional networks.
The Amazon Leo system is designed to meet the performance, reliability, and security requirements of enterprise customers. According to Amazon, the service offers lower latency, higher bandwidth, and broader coverage than traditional satellite systems, supporting applications such as real-time communications, remote operations, and hybrid network deployments. Customers can choose from three antenna options: Leo Nano, Leo Pro, and Leo Ultra. Amazon states that the Leo Ultra terminal supports higher upload and download speeds for bandwidth-intensive enterprise applications.
UK Connect will offer Amazon Leo as part of its connectivity portfolio, including integration with services such as its FUSION solution, which combines multiple connectivity technologies with a managed service. The offering will be tailored to the requirements of customers in the construction, warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
The partnership expands UK Connect's satellite connectivity offering and provides customers with access to Amazon Leo services for deployments in locations where terrestrial network coverage may be limited.
