CWCS Managed Hosting launches CWCS ArcusWall

A cloud firewall solution for tailored, powerful security.

CWCS Managed Hosting has launched a new, ultra-strength cloud firewall called CWCS ArcusWall, bringing corporate-level protection with an entry-level price tag. The solution has been designed for all sizes of business using CWCS cloud servers or cloud infrastructure and will be tailored to individual needs, ensuring each user receives the exact product benefits they require.

CWCS ArcusWall is powerful and reliable, yet users do not have to undergo lengthy technical training to get started. CWCS will set up, configure, manage and support the CWCS ArcusWall firewall solution and ensure it is seamlessly integrated into existing security systems. Ultimately, CWCS ArcusWall ensures data held in the cloud system is incredibly secure.

Designed with modularity and high flexibility in mind, the firewall can be easily deployed in one of many variations, ensuring it runs exactly what it is configured for and nothing more without restricting updates and additions over time.

During installation the network is configured into separate segments, meaning there is a perfect place for each machine in the network. The different segments can be enabled separately depending on requirements and each one represents a group of computers sharing a common security level. CWCS, or the customer, can make changes to control inbound and outbound traffic.

Karl Mendez, CEO at CWCS explains, “We are an ISO 27001 accredited company and take the security of our data centres, infrastructure, systems and our customers’ data extremely seriously. When developing CWCS ArcusWall we focused on a solution that offers additional, tailored levels of defence and extremely robust protection. We will set up the firewall around the needs of each client and this tailored approach helps each of our customers increase the individual security of their data and cloud systems even further.”

CWCS ArcusWall runs separately from a customer’s cloud server and will not have any noticeable adverse effects on performance. In fact, it can help establish connections faster and improve the stability of the connection. Services running on web servers behind the firewall can be configured to forward through the secure network with a few simple clicks, and those accessing the front end applications will not even realise it's there.

Because CWCS ArcusWall is a virtualised firewall solution, it uses less power than hardware-based firewalls. It includes a web-based control panel and VPN support, and also generates logs to enable analysis of historical data.

“Like all CWCS Managed Hosting solutions, we aim to provide the levels of services appropriate to their business needs,” Mendez continues. “CWCS ArcusWall is easy to use, but we have different levels of support available. We can look after just about as much or as little as our customers require, giving them the peace of mind that we have technicians onsite running our data centres 24/7/365.”
