Exponential-e set to take public sector organisations to the cloud

Technology enabler signs up to UK government’s G-Cloud iii framework to supply UK public sector organisations with cloud services.

Exponential-e will supply the public sector via the UK government’s G-Cloud iii with a range of cloud services. The cloud based infrastructure as a service will relieve cost pressures and enable public sector organisations to collaborate and communicate more effectively.

With a plan to change attitudes towards public cloud usage, the UK’s G-Cloud strategy has three aims: cost reduction, reusability and mutualisation.
The focus of the G-Cloud Programme is to introduce cloud ICT services into government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector. Through the CloudStore portal, public sector organisations such as NHS trusts, local and central government and housing associations can buy innovative technology from approved suppliers.

With exorbitant rates of data growth it has become imperative that public sector organisations not only handle vast quantities of data, but also store it, back it up and retrieve it when necessary. The third iteration of the framework agreement enables Exponential-e to provide customers through the G-Cloud framework with computing, storage, memory and online backup services to put into operation enhanced public sector ICT systems.
Over the past 10 years Exponential-e has worked with local councils, colleges, schools and NHS trusts deploying IT services and infrastructure tailored to specific requirements. Its accreditation and framework credentials currently span the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and now the G-Cloud Public Sector.

The company currently works with leading public sector organisations including: MHRA, Claremont High School, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London Borough of Newham and Viridian Housing Association to bring them expert technology solutions.

“The public sector market is of great significance to the UK economy and its people and we feel privileged to be in a position to help assist organisations implement the necessary tools to reduce cost and complexity in their ICT systems,” commented Lee Wade, CEO of Exponential-e. “Our cloud services not only reduce software and hardware cost - key factors - but also reduces management time and is scalable for future development. Most importantly, the very design of our cloud portfolio and our network provides the control, security and performance demanded by public sector organisations. Our public sector portfolio encompasses an entire cloud package from end-to-end to ensure the smoothest of deliveries and the best possible outcome.”

“Cloud is really becoming a movement in major markets and in a saturated, modern society, getting it right can be crucial to ongoing innovation and development. The public sector is a demanding market which needs to be satisfied,” added David Lozdan, head of public sector at Exponential-e. “At Exponential-e, we pay attention to the market specifics and recognise that data management, storage and innovative connectivity are critical if the government is to effectively service the public sector. With almost 10 years of providing managed services including point-to-point connectivity, Wide Area Networks, Cloud and Voice services - we fully understand the needs and challenges facing the public sector today. As a result, we’re happy to be providing G-Cloud with business grade cloud services to make the most of existing IT infrastructures”.
