NaviSite Europe Limited is a premier provider of enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, all provisioned via the NaviCloud(R) portal and housed in NaviSite's high security datacentre in Woking. It will dramatically reduce the amount of time that Clifton College needs to restore core business functions such as accounting, HR and estates management if systems go down in either of the school's two on-site datacentres. The Bristol based independent school caters to 1300 children aged 3-18 and up to 500 staff across a 42 building site.

"Clifton College is one of the top performing schools in the country, so parents and pupils expect to receive a quality service at all times, and maintaining the availability of our core business functions is critical. Moving to the cloud made a lot of sense as previously it might have taken up to three days to get the systems back online in the event of a disaster like a fire or flood, but the NaviSite disaster recovery solution allows us to get back up and running in no time at all," said Richard Edwards, network manager, Clifton College.

Clifton College chose NaviSite following a competitive tender. As part of the process the school visited NaviSite's datacentre facility in Woking and were impressed with the level of security, calibre of clients and the high levels of built in redundancy.

Richard continues "... the datacentre in which our core line of business servers would be hosted was second to none. Staff were friendly, very helpful and efficient, they made it easy for us to implement the solution. They offered us excellent technical support at every step of the way making this daunting project seamless."

This deployment is set to be the first of many for the school which plans to move all operations to the cloud within five years.

"We are delighted to be working with Clifton College on this exciting project. The education sector has a lot to gain from a robust, high quality, secure cloud platform, enabling IT to deliver the higher availability service which students and staff expect," said Sean McAvan, Managing Director, NaviSite Europe. "NaviSite has a strong technical team which is working in partnership with Clifton College to implement their IT goals. We believe that our support organisation, together with the intuitive, easy-to-use NaviCloud portal, makes NaviSite an ideal partner for educational establishments when migrating to the cloud."
