IDBS and Vivenics introduce novel SaaS approach for Netherlands science park

Start-up pharma R&D organisations benefit from flexible, local informatics support.

IDBS, the global provider of innovative data management, analytics and modelling solutions, has announced a partnership with informatics firm Vivenics, which offers solutions for life sciences research and development (R&D) organisations. Together the companies have introduced a novel Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach for the Pivot Park science park in Oss, Netherlands. Users benefit from local informatics knowledge and onsite support as well as increased flexibility via the managed services model.

Neil Kipling, CEO and founder of IDBS said, “Organisations on science parks across the world have data as their key asset. They need secure and reliable informatics which support their businesses and help to manage and protect this IP. For new organisations especially, getting informatics ‘right from the start’ is a must to ensure high context and quality data assets. This innovative partnership will help nurture such companies in today’s challenging and competitive environment.”

The move sees pharma R&D organisations in the Pivot Park, many of which are business incubators, provided with a complete data management solution. Acting as a channel partner, Vivenics offers a combination of its own software alongside IDBS’ E-WorkBook, ActivityBase, and SARview through a portal. Users can track, capture, manage, store and retrieve data on a private cloud. A monthly subscription model ensures flexibility as organisations in the Pivot Park can add or remove software licenses as demand requires.

Petrik Cuijpers, Managing Director at Vivenics said, “There aren’t many science and research parks which can offer informatics support onsite. By taking up our managed service approach organisations can benefit from guaranteed continuity of service and a level of financial stability. We are confident in our innovative approach with IDBS as we know we are providing trusted and proven software, enabling our customers to focus on science rather than having to worry about technology.”

E-WorkBook is a tool of business efficiency, innovation and collaboration. It is proven to help scientists save between two and eight hours a week by enabling them to streamline processes, capture knowledge and report more quickly. The IDBS ActivityBase Suite effectively manages high volume routine screening as well as low throughput data management, whilst SARview delivers dynamic reports to facilitate the investigation of relationships between biological activity and chemical structure, enhancing scientific communication. Making these solutions available via Vivenics on the Pivot Park improves the productivity of R&D.
