Swyx Service Provider Forum 2013 - Roundtable focuses on Cloud

Above the clouds, Swyx service providers from across Europe met last week for a roundtable in the Panorama Hall in Dortmund’s Harenberg City Center. The aim of the international forum that included participants from the UK, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands was to help the onward development of the cloud-based Unified Communications solution SwyxWare Data Center Edition, by sharing the current experiences and future needs of the different providers and country markets.

Meeting the demand for cloud solutions
Prior to the open debate, Dr. Ralf Ebbinghaus, CEO of UC specialist Swyx, explained the company’s cloud strategy. "The cloud business has developed into an important market segment for us: From our 500,000 users worldwide, approximately 50,000 SwyxWare users use our hosted solution. And in the last two quarters we have seen this trend to outsourced services increasing"

“For this reason we brought in a dedicated Swyx Cloud Manager, Roland Elster. Now it is important to strengthen our existing partnerships with service providers and to share their experiences. We want to make sure that our solution continually meets the needs of every customer. "

The value of honest feedback
Swyx hosted last Tuesday’s forum to enable partners to express ideas and improvements for the product and the associated cloud infrastructure as well as give their input of trends and the respective markets. The topics varied from network-related discussions regarding VPN connections through to product-specific subjects, such as the diversification of SwyxWare Data Center Edition for different audiences and markets and the expansion of the cloud solution for different operating systems and devices.

"Such meetings are extremely fruitful because in an open framework you have the opportunity to discuss subjects that ordinarily may not arise. We will be taking seriously all of the feedback we have gathered for the future development of the product." says Roland Elster.

After the forum, all the attendees left for a tour of the Brewery Museum in Dortmund and had a chance to savour some of the local beers in the evening.
