Fujitsu delivers robust, end-to-end cloud-based messaging security powered by Symantec

Fujitsu launches a new cloud-based solution that minimises the risks, costs and complexity of ensuring robust messaging security. Combining the breadth of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) security and cloud expertise from Fujitsu with messaging and web security technology from Symantec, Fujitsu Cloud End User Protect provides an end-to-end security solution for medium to large enterprises, bringing a new cloud-based delivery method to Fujitsu’s extensive security services portfolio.

This is the latest addition to Fujitsu’s comprehensive cloud portfolio, intended to provide businesses with the choice they need to modernise their ICT and innovate new types of service.

According to a report by Forrester security analyst Rick Holland, email security is a critical component of any company’s security portfolio. Email remains a popular vector for targeted attacks, and a Spamhaus Project study found that over 90 percent of inbound messages are not legitimate for a variety of reasons. Security provided as a service is an increasingly popular delivery method, with enterprises adopting new models, such as Software as a Service, with additional benefits such as the off-premise isolation of suspect messages.

Fujitsu Cloud End User Protect is a powerful and flexible way to access best-of-breed messaging security, including email security, encryption and management from the Symantec Email Security.cloud and Symantec Enterprise Vault.cloud service offerings, with the added benefit of flexible integration with Fujitsu managed security services. Specifying and delivering IT and cloud projects is complex, and Fujitsu Cloud End User Protect takes the burden of implementing and managing the IT security system away from in-house IT teams, allowing them to focus on IT modernisation and business innovation.

Delivered via a cloud-based model with flexible monthly payment terms, Fujitsu Cloud End User Protect eliminates capital expenditure and reduces the need for new hardware or software. Continuous security is assured with Symantec’s Skeptic heuristics engine and real time link-following technology, which protects against sophisticated threats and malicious content. Additionally, Symantec’s cloud service also ensures malware and targeted attacks can be dealt with at a safe distance from the customer’s network.

Services within Fujitsu Cloud End User Protect, which can be provided singly or as an entire end-to-end solution, include:
• Expert advice to assess requirements and develop appropriate security measures
• Rapid implementation and fast roll-out capability
• Ongoing service, from basic monitoring to fully managed Security Service Desk
