Alternative investment for file sharing, sync and storage

Gravitas, a co -sourcingTM platform providing cloud hosting and collaborative outsourcing for risk support, research, operations and technology to the alternative investment industry, has announced the launch of Gravitas AtmosphereTM, a secure, private, cloud-based online file sharing, sync and storage service.

Gravitas Atmosphere was designed for asset management professionals to access, share and synchronize corporate data or files from any authorized computer or mobile device anytime, anywhere, within a private, secure environment. Gravitas has partnered with EMC Syncplicity and EMC Atmos to deliver Gravitas Atmosphere within the Gravitas Private CloudTM, which is powered by VCE’s Vblock technology.

“The collaborative, dynamic ways in which we work have changed things dramatically and the alternative asset management industry is no exception,” said Patrick Mullevey, Executive Director of Systems Integration at Gravitas. “People expect to be able to access and share information across multiple devices seamlessly. Gravitas Atmosphere offers a highly secure, frictionless user experience with military-grade encryption, ease of management, and flexible, scalable storage using EMC storage within the Gravitas Private Cloud.”

In a Gravitas poll conducted this summer, 58% of CTOs and COOs said they consider information leakage, storage, regulatory compliance and control of information flow to be major concerns. The same poll revealed that 80% of the companies surveyed allow employees to use their own devices for work.

“The consumerization of IT continues to transform the financial services industry and is fueling demand for instant access to files across all platforms, devices and locations,” Mullevey said. “Gravitas Atmosphere answers this urgent call for enterprise-grade solutions that provide flexibility and adequate security and IT controls to protect critical data.”
