CWC wins Jamaica contract

Cable & Wireless Communications has been chosen to supply email services for Jamaica’s technology ministry.

CWC, which trades in Jamaica as LIME, is providing a Cloud-based service to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining (MSTEM) that reduces the organisation’s data storage costs by securely storing all of its emails on a remote server.

MSTEM staff can now store up to 25 gigabytes of email in their inboxes and have the ability to send attachments of up to 50 megabytes. CWC stores all archived emails, which can be searched for and retrieved as required. Emails are accessible from any device connected to the internet. CWC provides 24 x 7 support for the system.

This is the second significant email hosting contract that CWC has won from the Government of Jamaica in 2013. In April the Jamaica Constabulary Force rolled-out LIME’s Hosted Email Service to 11,000 staff.

Garry Sinclair, CEO of LIME Jamaica, commented: “We are of course delighted to have won a competitive tender to supply a technology service to Jamaica’s technology ministry. These contract wins are a solid endorsement of LIME’s ability to provide services to public and private sector organisations across the Caribbean.”
