UKFast Joins G-Cloud 4

Hosting firm UKFast has joined the latest phase of the government’s cloud initiative, becoming a G-Cloud4 approved supplier.

The G-Cloud programme was launched in 2012 to simplify procurement of cloud computing services. The latest iteration, G-Cloud4 (G4) introduces updates to the tender process.

Lawrence Jones, CEO of UKFast said: “Since joining the G-Cloud last year we have introduced more product ranges geared toward the public sector – recently launching our FlexPod range, as well as our groundbreaking wholly UK-based eCloud range.

“To hear that G-Cloud recently hit the £50m sales landmark is really encouraging as GCloud was originally developed to open the doors for smaller firms to cater for the public sector and bring long overdue competition to this tender process.

“Being accepted as part of this latest iteration is testament to the hard work of the UKFast team and it once again cements us as one of the top hosting providers in the UK.”

UKFast recently announced its reinvestment plan for 2012’s record financial figures, which saw turnover increase 24%, EBITDA grow 57% and profit increase 59%. The firm has this year launched a £4.5m training programme combining an apprenticeship and graduate scheme with a purpose-built training facility within its new 50,000sq ft HQ; begun development of a fifth data centre and introduced new product ranges including the FlexPod as part of this reinvestment.
