Teraco announces support for AWS Direct Connect in Africa

Teraco Data Environments (Pty) Ltd. can now offer its clients high-performance network access to Amazon Web Services (AWS) by leveraging Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions.

African enterprises looking to connect to cloud-based services can leverage Teraco’s resilient data centre environments and Level 3’s Cloud Connect Solutions for secure and reliable cloud networking solutions.

As part of the AWS Partner Network (APN), and supporting AWS Direct Connect, Level 3 provides network connections to give enterprises access to AWS’ cloud computing platform and services over a dedicated 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps connection. AWS provides companies with an infrastructure Web-services platform in the cloud that enables application management to be tailored to business needs, and Level 3’s international fibre-optic network is uniquely equipped to help scale in response to enterprise adoption of cloud-based services.

"To do business in the cloud requires a shift in thinking and an expenditure transformation," said Lex van Wyk, CEO, Teraco Data Environments. "The combination of Teraco’s data centre infrastructure, AWS Direct Connect and Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions makes it even easier to move, operate and secure enterprise applications in the cloud."
