SimpliVity's hyperconverged infrastructure support sVMware vSphere 6 and will also support for the Intel Haswell processor, bringing enhanced performance to its OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure system, and adding the SimpliVity OmniStack Integrated Solution with Cisco UCS C240 M4 Rack Server systems to its portfolio.

“There’s a lot of noise in the market today about hyperconvergence. Vendors are under pressure to say they have a hyperconverged solution, because they know this is what today’s CIO wants: cloud economics with enterprise capabilities,” noted Doron Kempel, SimpliVity CEO. “But what other vendors are bringing to market are little more than rudimentary storage and servers, and other disparate products for data protection – cobbled together with no material efficiency or performance benefits. Running disparate software products on the same scarce Intel processors that also support business applications is inefficient and undermines performance. SimpliVity remains the first and only company to deliver a true hyperconverged solution by natively assimilating all IT infrastructure capabilities below the hypervisor— including native data protection, data efficiency, and global unified management.”

As an established partner with VMware, SimpliVity will support VMware’s hypervisor upgrade, vSphere 6, in its hyperconverged infrastructure technology.

“We’re excited to see the great performance and scale enhancements of vSphere 6 and we’re committed to supporting vSphere for our customers as they upgrade,” added Jesse St. Laurent, vice president of product strategy for SimpliVity. “VMware customers run their business-critical applications on SimpliVity’s hyperconverged infrastructure and rely on us to simplify IT below the hypervisor, providing 3x cost savings and increased operational efficiency.”

SimpliVity will also add support for the new Intel Haswell processor by the end of the first quarter for its OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure platform, and extend its support for Cisco UCS systems. Specifically, support for the new Haswell processor will enable customers to leverage SimpliVity’s OmniStack hyperconverged infrastructure platform with Cisco UCS C240 M4<http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/servers-unified-computing/ucs-c240-m4-rack-server/index.html> Server Rack systems: enterprise-class servers designed to deliver exceptional performance, expandability, and efficiency for storage and IO-intensive infrastructure workloads.

“Adding support for the next-gen Intel processor is something our customers are really excited about,” said St. Laurent. “They get to run more VMs with more resources and better performance, in the same hyperconverged infrastructure platform, powerful enough to run their entire IT environment.”
