Adapt increases customer security

Managed services provider Adapt says that, following an official audit of its Habitat Management Infrastructure, supporting data centres and office locations, its services are now certified against the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) v3.1.

PCI DSS is the worldwide security standard set up to help businesses process card payments securely and reduce card fraud. With customers across all sectors including retail and finance, being PCI DSS compliant it is an essential qualification for Adapt’s and its flagship application hosting ecosystem, the Habitat.

The PCI DSS certification demonstrates Adapt’s capability to keep both its own IT infrastructure and customers’ valuable information safe and secure. The rigorous PCI DSS auditing process proves Adapt’s ability to build secure networks, protect cardholder data and implement other key security requirements of the PCI DSS v3.1 standard across an array of technologies that support the Habitat.

The Habitat is a first-to-market application hosting ecosystem that dynamically aligns IT budgets and business requirements to provide customers with a permanently agile and efficient infrastructure. The Habitat makes enterprise-grade services commercially accessible to mid-sized businesses and offers a range of customisation options that deliver enhanced alignment.

Adapt’s Head of Security and Compliance, Scott Nicholson commented, “There have been a number of retailers in the news for payment system breaches in the last twelve months and as Adapt increases its financial and retail customer profile. This prompted us to design, plan and implement the PCI DSS v3.1 standard as we want to guarantee best practice for our customers as external threats to data security increase exponentially”.
